Happy Monday y’all! The quaint chapel, barns and open fields at {Oak Hill} stayed true to the couple’s theme of classy backyard BBQ. The event was catered by {Fried Green Tomatoes} and the cake was by Sweet Heart Bakery. The beautiful bouqets and centerpieces of daisies were arranged by {River Valley Designs}. Photography by Kristin Kasperek. Thanks to the planning of {Kreative Rentals} this wedding was picture perfect. To see more of Katie + Matthew check out photographer Kristin Kasperek’s {blog}.

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. We met in high school, the summer before my junior year. Matt’s best friend worked for my family and we meet through him. We spent the entire summer fishing, swimming, and having cook outs. It was so simple and innocent.
Describe the proposal:Matt had hung the ring from the Christmas tree. I had a feeling it was going to happen and I was almost getting annoyed. Apparently it had been hanging on the tree for a week. Everyday he moved it in hopes that I would find it. Finally after a long night of making Christmas cookies he asked me to look at my presents under the tree and then I saw it!
What attracted me to my husband was:I just thought he was the cutest thing!
Why do you love your husband? He has a great sense of humor, and his love for life.
What attracted me to my wife was: She was always smiling; and is naturally someone you want to be around.
The weather on our wedding day was: Cloudy and rainy in the morning. I have two older sisters and on their wedding days it was about the same weather, so I thought it was a good luck charm.
What was the design inspiration for your wedding? Classy casual summer BBQ with attention to detail.
Favorite design element of your big day: The wedding site was amazing. Our guests had to take long windy roads, and just when they thought they were lost you could see the church steeple from the road. Entering the site you had to go into a valley and across a very narrow bridge, you then drive up a hill and it all comes together. Beautiful red barns, Clydesdale horses, huge trees with perfect walking paths naturally between them, and of course the perfect wedding chapel with just enough seats for our guests. We used the entire site to stress our laid back feel. When service was done our guests lingered over to an old school house where our guest book was and to see pictures of us over the past nine years. They then went to our cocktail hour. We used one of the barns that has been renovated, and had a large tent set up outside. There our guests had served mango martinis, duck confeit, chicken curry, and assorted cheeses. We also used the tent as an opportunity for our guests to find out where they were seated. We had hung thick paper daisies with the guest’s name and table # on them. So they then took their daisies and walked to the reception tent. Each table had blue checkered table cloths, with beautiful bouquets of daisies in them. We had two served courses. The first was fried green tomatoes, and stuffed mushrooms. The second was a Caesar salad. Our entrée was a buffet of grilled chicken, rib eye steak, corn on the cob, roasted red potatoes from my family’s farm, and baked beans. We had chocolate and vanilla cake along with a late night dessert buffet of crème puffs, brownies, éclairs, mini cheese cakes, and cup cakes. We loved how everything seemed to flow together. We feel that our guests felt they were at a summer BBQ with a touch of class.
Describe your wedding flowers: Lots of daisies. We served a signature drink at our cocktail hour, it was a mango martini with a simple blue pansies. In the church our florist made beautiful daisy wreaths, and kissing balls were placed all over the site.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: We loved how everything came together. For so long we imagined how it would look, and to finally see it was amazing.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? We got engaged in mid December, set our date in January and planned a 200+ person wedding in 5 months.
Scariest moment? My nose starting running terribly when I was coming down the aisle. I didn’t think it was going to stop; luckily my matron of honor had some tissues.
Funniest moment? We loved the speeches.
Hardest decision you made in planning? The invitations.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Classic, personal, fun
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? Things will happen that you don’t expect but just understand going into it that little surprises might pop up, but in the end it’s not a big deal. Also the day of your wedding try to take it all in. It goes by so fast. Get a good photographer to capture all the moments you can’t. I never really got to see my cake, but then I saw it on our pictures and couldn’t believe how beautiful it was
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? We would like to build a house in the next few years so we are going over plans for that and saving money.
Any DIY items? My sisters and I made menu cards for the tables. Also in lieu, of gifts we made a donation to our local animal shelter, so we made little cards to put into each napkin. We also had dog cookies made and displayed on cute little table. They were yellow daisies individually wrapped, with a note from our dog Ruthie, saying thank you to our dog friends.

Tina + Sundeep had a wedding fit for a king and queen! The rich colors and elegant florals from {Elegant Affairs} perfectly illustrated their theme of Indian royalty. The big day was hosted by {InterContinental Hotels & Resorts} in Dallas and {Maharaja} catered authentic Indian food. A million thanks to one of our favorite photographers, {Poser}, for sharing this wedding with us today!

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. We met our sophomore year of college at UT Austin at a back to school party. We didn’t really know each other, and Sundeep came up to me and asked me to have dinner with him sometime and got my number.
Describe the proposal: We were ice skating at Rockefeller Center in November of 2007. As the session came to a close and the crowd began to exit the rink for resurfacing, Sundeep convinced me that we should do one more quick round on the ice before leaving. As we came around the loop and the ice was nearly empty, Sundeep used his superb acting skills and took a nasty fall to the ice. As I looked down at Sundeep, joking that I was a much better ice skater than him, Sundeep acted like he was hurt and couldn’t get up onhis own. AsI grasped Sundeep’s hand to help him up, I pulled him up on one knee before he paused. With his other hand, Sundeep had slyly pulled out the ring from his coat pocket. While I stood in surprise and “our song” played through the cold winter air, Sundeep proposed to me.The crowd of ice skaters and tourists (and a few of our closest friends hidden among them) went wild after I finally got over the shock and muttered a “yes” as we did a victory lap.
What attracted me to my husband was: His dashing good looks (obviously) and his goofy sense of humor. He has this power to make me laugh even when I’m down.
What attracted me to my wife was: She’s hot! She is the funniest person I have ever met in my entire life and makes me laugh every single day. She loves playing video games. She loves playing sports. And she’s the only other person that hates apples like I do.
A date we went on that we’ll always remember: Our first date at Thai Passion in Austin will always be the most memorable. It was our first time ever hanging out, and we knew nothing about each other. We ended up hitting it off and even shared our dishes with each other.
The weather on our wedding day was: Blue skies, sunny and 75 degrees
What was the design inspiration for your wedding? Royal Indian colors mixed with modern elegance.
Favorite design element of your big day: Our Mandap, the canopy under which our wedding ceremony took place. It was very open and grand, with colors that matched my wedding dress.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I purchased it at a boutique during a trip to India. It weighed about 30 pounds and felt like 100 when I was walking down the aisle! The traditional Indian wedding dress color is red but I wanted to be a little different so I wore a gold outfit with red accents.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: There are too many to have a favorite, but we loved it when my adorable nephew, who was our ring bearer, rode his decorated tricycle down the aisle.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? Sundeep and I live in New York City so it was definitely a challenge trying to plan a wedding from across the country. Every trip we took home was filled with vendor meetings and venue walk thrus. Also, since I am event planner in New York, I refused to hire a wedding planner which became a bit overwhelming at times.
Were there any special family traditions you included in the wedding? There were so many! Our favorite was when my sisters and closest girlfriends stole Sundeep’s shoes during the wedding ceremony (he removed them before the ceremony started). Usually, the groom will negotiate with the sisters immediately after the ceremony to get his shoes back. But my sisters/girlfriends decided to wait until 1am during the send-off outside before making their ‘demands’. As we got in the car, my sisters/girlfriends all jumped in front of the car and began singing a song demanding payment in return for Sundeep’s shoes. They wouldn’t even let the car leave, so Sundeep had to get out of the car and negotiate with them while everyone stood around laughing at the situation. Needless to say, Sundeep paid a hefty price to get his shoes back (The whole game is a way for the groom’s new sister-in-laws to poke fun at him, and it serves as an ice breaker between the two sides).
Funniest moment? When the priest broke out into song during the ceremony… And he decided to get the entire crowd singing the song, which sounded like a nursery rhyme. We’d never heard that song before and never heard of something like that ever happening. Sundeep and I just stared at each other biting our lips trying not to laugh.
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? Remember that the day is about you and your husband. Start early, and try to stay organized. And in the end, try to remember every moment, because it flies by so quickly.
What’s next for you as a couple? Trying to settle into our apartment in Manhattan. And finally trying to enjoy living in the city again. We spent so much time wedding planning we forgot we lived in Manhattan. And maybe adding a new family member – a dog of course!

When the incredible Jose Villa sent us this stunning wedding, we all swooned in unisom! Bridget and Justin were married at the beautiful {Crossroads Estate}. The venue coupled with the lovely arrangements of orchids and succulents created by {Camilla Svensson Burns Couture Floral & Event Design} made for the perfect setting. The colorful bridesmaid’s dresses were from {J.Crew} and Bridget’s stunning gown was custom designed by Bridget herself and {Brides by Liza}. Catering was done by {Plemmons Catering} and {Leda’s Bake Shope} created the sweet little bite-sized cupcakes. {MAK Events} helped plan the wonderful soiree and of course the beautiful images are from our friend {Jose Villa} who also was the photographer behind our gorgeous cover couple Chelsea + Tec! To see more images from Bridget + Justin check out Jose’s {blog}.

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. We met the summer after I graduated from high school in Virginia, at a party. I was immediately smitten with the young man from California and asked my friends to “accidentally” leave me at the party. So, I asked Justin for a ride home. We began dating and after 2 years of dating we decided we were too young to commit. We broke up but always kept in touch. Justin moved back out to California. I finished college in Virginia and moved to LA. One day Justin called me and asked to hang out and we’ve been together since.
What was the design inspiration for your wedding? The inspiration was the gorgeous landscape of Los Olivos. Bright pinks, oranges and browns were used to create a rich, warm and inviting atmosphere. Lots of fun and little fuss.
Favorite design element of your big day: Marigolds and lanterns on the tables
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I didn’t try on a single dress. I always knew what I wanted. Brides by Liza was recommended by a friend so I went, described my dream dress and had it made.
Describe your wedding flowers: Our flowers were gorgeous we used succulents and orchids.
Describe your wedding cake: We had bite size cupcakes for our wedding cake.
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? Relax, have fun, know that things will go wrong but it won’t matter in the end. If your guests see the bride and the groom having a good time they will too. Enjoy it! Make sure you check in with each other throughout the evening because it goes quickly and everyone wants your attention.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? Enjoying married life and traveling the world, then babies.

Congratulations Bridget + Justin! We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
