Monthly Archives: December 2008

Another post filled with photos from the SW {Thanksgiving Photo Contest}. Missed a post? Click on the number you missed to see all {I}, {II}, {III} and {IV}. Winners to come shortly.  I love these pictures!

From Erin: The groom (now my hubby), said “I do” WAY early…and everyone was dying laughing. It really makes me smile. I think our photographer has some shots too, but I like this raw picture. I love seeing all of my best friends dying laughing in the background.

From Janna: Attached is a picture of my fiance and I at a University of Texas tailgate a couple of years after we had graduated. I love how candid this photo is. We were both so happy to be back in Austin and I think it shows the great dynamic we have together. The December after we took this photo, I framed it in a white frame and planned to give it to him as a Christmas gift. Little did I know, he had framed the exact same picture in a white frame and was planning to give it to me. We both laughed that Christmas morning as we opened our identical gifts. Here is a photo of me skydiving. I love the pure, unadulterated look of excitement on my face. I felt so alive in that moment. This picture is of my fiance and I at an impromptu “photo shoot” on a vacation to Connecticut. We went to see the fall foliage and took about a million pictures, but this one stands out. It encompasses two of my passions, travel, and my handsome fiance. It brings a smile to my face every time I see it.

From Brittney: My first pic is a pic of me and my fiance’ THE DAY we got engaged. This was right after the proposal where he’s telling me how he had to trick me. He says I’m too sneaky – I don’t know what he’s talking about! One of the happiest moments ever. I had NO CLUE and it was a total surprise! Oh my gosh, this was a hard one. But, I have to say that I am SO THANKFUL for my dear college friends. These girls are going to be in my wedding this next May. Here we are at Courtney’s wedding :) I have a second picture. This is a picture of me and my BEST college friends. I email/talk to these girls at least twice a week. The friend in the middle is my Matron of Honor :) and the one in yellow is also a bridesmaid. One lives in Montana – which is too far away from Texas if you ask me :) The other (my Matron of Honor) is 4 hours away. I so wish they were closer, and I so wish we were all together again! I also included a third picture (hope that’s ok) of ALL our girls in the dorm lobby my last year at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. This was the first week of school, Fall semester, 2005. Oh, how I wish I could go back to those days! That is me in the LIME GREEN shorts making some kind of weird face! CRAZY!

From Angelique: The “thankful” photo is my most favorite picture of my parents. It’s funny because they rarely smile when they take photo’s, yet this picture shows them in true happiness. I’m thankful for their love and unconditional support.

From Samantha: The photos that I have chosen to enter were just taken very recently, and my little girl is now TWO years old! The side-story behind it is that one of my brides gave me a floral centerpiece from her Thanksgiving themed wedding to bring home for Jiana. The bright red, orange and yellow flowers captured her attention right off the bat. It was completely coincidental that her little white dress matched them perfectly when she snatched the flowers from the dining room table to play with! She was sitting on the tile floor in front of our huge sliding glass window, completely taken with these Thanksgiving flowers that I brought home. The camera came straight out, and I just snapped away while she thoroughly enjoyed them. Looking through them makes me realize, not only how thankful I am to have her in my life, but for all the incredible little nuances that she brings to it … Laughter and smiles through brand new little teeth, porcelain baby skin and golden curls, blissful innocence, curiosity, wonderment, happiness, discovery, sunlight and absolute, 150%, pure, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

From Katie D: Thankful: Picture of me and my best friend: Day on the lake, seersucker and polka dot bikinis and a corona in our hands… couldn’t have been a more perfect day! (and now we live in different states and i miss her daily! Wish this moment could last forever!) Picture of me and my sorority sisters who are my best friends. My family,my home, and my dog who I am eternally grateful for (last thanksgiving 07). Bachelorette party for my best friend (one of the best nights ever!) and wearing our sunglasses at night….

From Andrea: I have attached a photo for your Photo Contest (1)!!! This is a picture of my boyfriend and I during a trip to Italy! We were in Venice sitting together enjoying San Marco Plaza (where they film a lot of those diamonds are forever commercials) when we took the picture – in fact, my boyfriend is actually the one holding the camera! I just love the colors and think it is SUPER cute! It makes me happy EVERY time I look at it!!

Have the warm fuzzies yet? We aren’t even half way through! Keep scrolling and make sure to check out the other posts, {I}, {II} and {III}.  Winners to come!

From Courtney: Joyous me! My fiancé and his love for my 2 adopted dogs, stinky and barky.

From Marissa: I took this picture of my fiance and I about an hour before he popped the question! This is my fave pic of us- its even on our “Save the Dates”. Hope you like it!

From Ashley: My friends doing a victory dance after winning a point in volleyball while we where on vacation in Florida. Another photo from the same trip, my 3 best friends and husband.. being silly, trying to see how many people Cliff (one on the bottom) could hold. Love the expression on Audrey’s face. This shot was captured while my friend Cliff helped put rose petals out before the ceremony. One of the best pics of the day haha. I love this picture from my wedding. My friends and I love “funny face” pictures, but in this one, my MOH Audrey seems to be the only one who actually made one.. and I just love how everyone else is laughing about it. Another great shot with Audrey. This is one of our favorite pictures together. It was on a trip to the casinos in Tunica… I don’t even remember the picture being taken, but we were obviously so happy!

From Angelique: I love this “joyful,” yet very candid photo. My brother caught this photo of me and my fiance at my parent’s house a few years ago and it’s still one of our favorites.

From Alex: Three things I am thankful for… my dog, Tucker, convertibles, and convertible weather!

From Elisa: This is not the most flattering photo but it was very in the moment…It’s a ‘self-portrait’ (taken by me) of me with my daughter while we were in Zion National Park over the summer… just havin’ fun! My daughter is the most amazing person and I love her like crazy – I am very grateful for her!

From Leslie: The one’s I’m thankful for!

From Kathryn: I am thankful for my younger brother who’s 13 years old and adopted from a missions trip my parents took to south america. He is beautiful inside and out. I was ten when he joined my family and at the prime age for taking care of him and dressing him up, etc. As we’ve grown older we grew closer we have a special bond that surpasses any difference between us in color/culture/or blood. He has given me a joy that I never knew I could have and I couldn’t be prouder of who he is becoming. I know he will do great things. I am also thankful for my sweet future nieces… who will both be flower girls in my wedding. Their sweet personalities and affection melt my heart… not to mention they have a mom who I ADORE and get to be related to in just a few short months.
